HOLIDAY IN KOREA.
I will tell you about Korean traditional holidays. The most important Korean holidays are 'Seol-nal', the lunar New Year's Day and 'Chu-seok', Korean thanksgiving day. Today Koreans usually don’t follow the lunar calendar but all traditional holidays follow the lunar calendar.
In both holidays, most Korean people go to their hometown to be with their family. 'Seol-nal' is celebrated as the lunar New Year’s Day. Most Korean people visit to the first son’s house among their brothers and perform a ceremony for their ancestors. After this, young people make a bow to their parents and family elders wishing their health and longevity. And then the elders give them well-wishing remark and a present in return. On 'Seol-nal', Koreans eat a special food, 'Tteok-guk' which is a kind of soup made with long round rice cakes and play traditional games like 'Yut-nori'.
