Ⅰ. EXPERIMENTS OF POINT MASS DOWNFALL
1. INTRO
When we let the ball go down on the curvature at a certain height, the ball is off-bending at some point and goes free-fall toward the floor. At that time, the distance of how far the ball goes from curvature is decided by the height of the start position. We can calculate the distance by using the energy conservation law and compare it with the measured distance. This is the purpose of this experiments, and we can also know how large the error is and the reasons of error.
2. TOOLS
- Curvature rail
A ball goes down along the surface of the tool.
- Paper
The points on the paper are marked by the rubber ball falling down along the surface of the curvature. How far it is created from the end of the curvature is determined by the height of the start position.
- Tapeline
It can be used to measure the distance of the movement.
3. THEORY
When we place the ball at ⓐpoint, it goes down to downside. In this process, we can know the velocity at ⓑ and ⓒpoint by using the energy conservation law.
