The Soviet Union’s launch of the Sputnik satellite1 had brought humanity into the space age, but human’s frequent space activities gave rise to space contamination. Especially space debris could cause damage to space objects like satellites in orbits and sometimes fall on the earth. Such increase in space debris will lead to the high possibility of threatening further space activities.
1. Definition of Space Debris.
95% of man-made objects in space is considered as space debris, so to clarifying the definition of space debris is important. However, none of conventions related to space is handling space debris. It means almost every space object has no legal status. There is no converged definition of space debris, so I decided to use definition of COPUOS.

4)Iridium33-Cosmos2251 collision
This collision was the first accidental hypervelocity collision between two intact artificial satellites in Earth orbit. While the Iridium satellite was operational at the time of the collision, the Russian satellite had been out of service since at least 1995 and was no longer actively controlled US. space agency NASA reported that a large amount of debris was produced by the collision. As of March 2010, the U.S. Space Surveillance Network has cataloged 1740 pieces of debris from the collision, with about 400 additional pieces awaiting cataloging.
