People are usually praised when they help others, especially those in need. When close friends are in trouble, one can willingly help them without categorizing them or examining their hereditary characteristics or backgrounds. Likewise, when certain groups of people are in need, it would be better to provide help than to attack or ignore them. However, if those people are categorized by certain invisible traits and generalized into a distinct group innately needing help and care, could this help be free from the blame of discrimination<중 략>
“I guess a man’s job is to make the world a better place to life in…” provides an excellent direction for life. But did his father make the world a better place? While his father campaigned against the Klu Klux Klan, he and his cronies are those that stuffed the ballot boxes and practiced voter deceit. These were the men that, according to Holmes, manipulated the levee commissions; he alleges that Percy’s father made over $30,000 in his work with the Greenville levee commission. These are the men that, during the flood of 1927, determined that the Negroes should not be moved off the levee; not because it was safe, but because they did not want to lose their workforce.
