1. The definition and history of ‘One child policy’ in China.
The number of population of the world is about 7billion, many people consider this number is quite big for living together. But many also think that if China didn’t do strong policies for control birth rate, the world population would increase explosively. In fact, this policy is overviewed to prevent about 400million births between 1978 and 2011.
The one-child policy literally means that the one child limitation in the population control policy of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It officially restricts married, urban couples to having only one child, while allowing exceptions for several cases, including twins, rural couples, ethnic minorities.
Also foreigners in China also could have many children. In China birth control policy was not the recent project only, from the beginning in 1970, citizens had to have only 2 children. But with this policy, still there were several worries that the population growth would be overwhelming in the future.
So Chinese government announced more strict policy called ‘One child policy in 1978. There are several strong disadvantages that if people didn’t follow this policy. First, there are provincial levels through fines which are imposed based on the income of the family and many factors.
Also Chinese government emphasizes every governments and enterprises to give the offenders registration and inspection work. But in spite of these disadvantages, there are many citizens who continue to give a birth more than one.
