대통령들의 광복절 경축사로 한정하여 광복의 의미를 분석하고 재조명하고자 한다.
정치적 연설, 특히 광복절 축사는 당시 지도자가 역사적 시각의 제시를 통해 과거 국
민이 처한 시대적 상황을 회상케 하여 더 나은 미래를 위해 어떤 역사적 사명감을
가져야 하는지를 국민에게 알리는 호소문이자 대화의 수단이다. 이러한 점에서 광복
절 축사는 역사적 기록물인 동시에 당시의 시대 상황을 축약해서 알 수 있게 해주는
자료다. 또한, 연설은 지도자가 관련된 경축일의 역사적 의미를 더 부각시켜 국민에
게 더 많은 역사적 사명감과 자부심을 일깨우는 내용이 들어있는 정치사적 사료이기
도 하다. 따라서 본 글에서는 광복절 경축사의 분석을 통해 대통령이 관련된 역사적
사실에 대해서 어떤 방법으로 강조하고, 국민의 역사적 사명감에 대해서 어떤 반향을
불러일으켰는지를 분석하였다.

영어 초록

Our country is still continuing a 'consumptive' dispute over independence
despite the fact that we celebrated the 70th anniversary of our independence last
year. As August 15, the day liberated from the Japanese colonial rule is especially
interpreted respectively and differently by politicians including the president, a clue
of National Schism is being offered. The purpose of this article is to analyze and
re-illuminate the meaning of the independence with limiting its scope to the
speeches marking liberation day by the former presidents following the
democratization in terms of how this change is shown in the speeches of state
leaders. A political speech, especially, a congratulatory message concerning
liberation day conjures up a periodic situation that the people had encountered in
the past through which a leader in those days proposes a historical perspective,
thereby a letter of plea or a means of conversation makes people know which
historic mission they should have for the better future. In this respect, a speech
on liberation day is a historical record. Thus their data are able to be available to
the public by abbreviating the contemporary periodic situation. Also, the speech
further highlights a historical significance of the relevant day of national
celebration by a leader, Therefore, the contents in the political and historical
source awaken people to more historical sense of the mission and the pride.
Accordingly, the article analyzed the methods with which the presidents
emphasized the relevant historical fact and the claims that they made as for
people's historical mission.
