현대사회에 들어오면서 급속한 정보의 팽창과 가속화는 우리 생활 전반에서 근본적인 변화를 요구하고 있다. 또한 21세기 디지털(digital) 시대의 환경은 새로운 정보화 능력을 갖춘 새로운 인간상을 요구하고 있으며, 이는 필연적으로 우리의 교육도 새롭게 변신해야 함을 의미한다. 또한 어린이들의 가치관과 생활 양식 등 어린이 사회의 전체적인 측면에서도 근본적인 변화가 나타날 것으로 예상된다. 디지털 시대는 특히 외적 자극에 가장 민감한 시기이며 모방성이 강한 어린이들에게 많은 영향을 미치고 있다.이와 함께 디지털 시대의 정보가 어린이들에게 미치는 영향에는 긍정적 측면 못지 않게 부정적 측면도 대단히 많이 나타나고 있다. 중요한 것은 어린이들이 지적, 정서적, 문화적, 신체적 등 모든 생활 전반에 걸쳐 디지털 시대의 영향권에서 벗어날 수 없기 때문에, 디지털 시대에 대한 올바른 이해와 적응을 통해 디지털 시대의 역기능을 순기능으로 전환시킬 수 있도록 해야 한다는 점이다.
영어 초록
The purpose of this study is to analyze the feature of digital age and to establish the new certain image of human being for children to live in this age. Furthermore, this study aims to improve the objectives of the art education in elementary school to put in practicing the new certain image of human being through the art education.To be able to adjust at digital age, the educational objectives in the country can be established, “To produce the professional human being who has variable common sense and culture.” The sub objectives are as follows:
1) To grow the moral man to be able to cooperate.
2) To grow the open-minded man with inclusiveness.
3) To grow the outstanding human being with creativity and rich imagination.
4) To grow the self-directed man with the ability of self-directed learning.
5) To grow the progressive human being with the leadership and outstanding judgement.
6) To grow creative man for the realization of traditional culture.
7) To grow the emotional human being with the knowledge and appreciation of art.
Under these educational objectives, the future society should bring up the new human being for the richer and freer society, in the same context, the objectives of the elementary school art education can be established as follows:
“Through the activity of the art, we develop the ability of expression and appreciation, and improve the creativity, the ability of criticism and aesthetic views.”
And then the sub objectives can be as the following:
1) To be able to understand and find out the values of aesthetic objects.
2) To be able to express the feeling and thinking creatively.
3) To be able to express the traits of material with harmony.
4) To be able to creative works on the grounds of our artistic heritage.
5) To be able to appreciate, find the traits, and criticize it analytically.
Our education has been neglecting the children’s creativity, imagination, humanity and judgement, and has not been in the rapid development of the scientific culture so far. And various aspects of our school education has fallen into the idealogical knowledge, since it has brought about the distortion of the “educated image of human being”. When we consider the pluralized values and speedy change of the globalization and information-oriented society in the digital age, school education should pursue the learner’s balanced growth of the effective, psychomotor domain, and the cognitive one as well. Although the digital human being with the reasonable rationality is important, analogue human emotion and motor skills ability should be emphasized.
