1. 실험 목적
- Hooke`s law를 이용해서 Young`s modulus를 구할 수 있다.
2. 이론
- many structural materials, including most metals, wood, plastics, and ceramics, behave both elastically and linearly when first loaded.
when a material behaves elastically and also exhibits a linear relationship between stress and strain, it is said to be linearly elastic.
the linear relationship between stress and strain for a bar in simple tension or compression is expressed by the equation 『σ=Eε』this equation called "Hooke`s law".
in which σ is the axial stress, ε is the axial strain, and E is a constant of proportionality known as the modulus of elasticity for the material. the modulus of elasticity is the slope of the stress-strain diagram in the linearly elastic region.
modulus of elasticity is often called Young`s modulus.
