Do you exactly know the national holiday that all family members meet, make perform an ancestral sacrifice, and watch a full moon? Maybe you`ll answer to the question that it`s a Korean New Year`s Day or it’s Korean Thanksgiving Day. Like this, people often say as if these holidays are a same festive day. However, you don’t have to regard the two gala days with just same thing.
A Korean New Year’s Day is in January or February. This season means in Korea that everything is start and all nature resuscitates.In Korea, in this season, a new term is start and people make a fresh determination for new year. So, people make sacrifices in order to greet their forefather on this day. In contrast with a Korean New Year’s Day, Korean Thanksgiving Day is in September or November. This season is usually talked the season of harvest. So, these new crops are set on the table for greeting toward ancestor. Finally, performing an ancestral sacrifice on Korean Thanksgiving Day means that people present abundant foods to their ancestor.
