“My mother kept saying, ‘Why you? Why you?’ I said ‘I’m gay. I’m your son.’ Then my mother said, ‘Let’s take poison together.’” Hong Suk-Chon, who was a very popular actor in Korea, said this in an article by Norimitsu Onishi in The New York Times (10.1.2003). Four years after there events, he works on air again because Koreans’ minds have opened more and more. I strongly believe that one’s identity cannot be silenced. Not by anyone, especially him/herself. Everyone has to voice him/herself, so that all others can learn of them. Continual voicing and interaction will lead to understanding and acceptance....
