IntroductionThe purpose of this essay is to examine the economic growth and the standards of living of Switzerland and India. Switzerland and India are chosen because while the former is a developed country, and the latter is developing country. However, this does not always point that standards of living in Switzerland is better than India, and India has achieved rapid economic growth in recent years. On account of this, comparing these two countries will be valuable for understanding the relationship between economic growth and living standards. Firstly, this essay will look at Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and GDP per capita to explore the economic growth of these two countries then investigate standards of living in both countries by analysing Human Development Index (HDI) and Social Progress Index (SPI).
Economic Growth
In this section, the economic growth of Switzerland and India will be examined through GDP, GDP growth, and GDP per capita. Furthermore, these countries will be compared which country is performing better.
