본문내용
During the 1950s and 1960s, Firms such as Matsushita and Sony fought for control and competitiveness over Japanese market. Japanese products rivaled those of overseas competitors. The Japanese manufacturers then took their products overseas based on price advantages created by economies of scale in the Japanese market. Cross-subsidization due to controlled high prices in Japan allowed market penetration pricing policies, which naturally led to market share domination and the exit from the industry by most American producers unable to compete against such forces. The government indemnified Japanese companies abroad against loss and condoned restriction on foreign construction bidding in Japan; neither at home nor abroad was there ruinous competition between Japanese companies.
After World War II, the Japanese rebuilding strategy wasto focus on mass production industries, such as steel and automobiles. The large-scale mass producers in Japan embedded technological innovation in their production process, an example of which is the QC, quality circle.
