Purpose : The purpose of this study was to measure eye observation duration and visibility in relation to object color through eye tracker and powerpoint presentations with images of actual golf courses and various color golf balls. Methods : 20 Participants (11 men and 9 women, with an average age of 24.9±1.99 years) were participated in the study. Golf course images, video, and multicolored golf balls were used to create a powerpoint presentation that was projected via a beam projector in the lab. Participants were given the task of locating the ball in the image while wearing an Eye tracker glasses 2 (Tobii, Danderyds, Stockholms, Sweden). The number, duration, and order of recognized balls were all counted.
Results : The number of balls found during the time limit is 4.70±0.68 white, 4.52±0.84 orange, 4.12±0.75 blue, and 4.90±0.37 fluorescent balls (p<0.010). All balls were perceived in 6.77±2.37 for white, 7.61±2.18 for orange, 9.50±0.96 for blue, and 5.18±2.05 s for fluorescent (p<0.010). As a result of measuring the order of recognition in images and videos with balls of various colors, In the video, blue was recognized last (48.75%) while fluorescent color was recognized first (40.00%), In the video, blue was recognized last(50.00%) while fluorescent color was recognized first (40.00%) (p<0.010). The number of recognized balls in the image shown to fly was 1.90±0.85 white, 2.25±1.06 orange, 1.50±0.68 blue, and 3.10±0.71 fluorescent balls (p<0.010).
Conclusion : The results of this study, blue balls had the lowest visibility of all the colors against the background of blue grass, whereas fluorescent balls had the highest visibility. The gaze time for color perception was shown to be the lowest for fluorescent color and the longest for blue. There was a negative connection between visibility and gaze time for color perception.
