본 연구는 충청남도 서산 지역 중심으로 2016년 절화 백합 재배 농가의 현황 및 수확 후 관리 실태에 대하여 조사하고 분석하고자 수행하였다. 그 결과, 2011년 백합 재배 19농가에 서 2016년 절화 백합 재배 농가 수는 11농가로 고령화 및 불 안한 경제적 요건, 작물 전환 등의 이유로 절화 백합 농가 수 가 감소한 것으로 조사되었다. 2016년을 기준으로 절화 백합 을 재배하고 있는 농가 11농가 중 설문조사에 응한 7농가에 대하여 재배 현황을 조사한 결과, 재배 규모가 3,300 ~ 6,600m2 가 농가의 비율은 57.1%로 다소 많은 것으로 조사되었으며, 농가 직원 수는 2명인 농가가 42.8%로 가장 높은 비율을 차지 하였다. 7농가 모두 PE 비닐하우스 시설 재배를 하고 있으며 시설 내 상자재배를 하고 있는 1농가를 제외한 6농가는 시설 내 토경재배를 하는 것으로 조사되었다. 주로 오리엔탈 계통 과 종간잡종 계통의 품종을 재배하고 있으며 오리엔탈 계통 중 ‘Medusa’ 품종, 종간잡종 계통 중 ‘Yelloween’ 품종이 다른 품종에 비해 다소 많이 재배하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 수 확 시기는 일본의 오봉, 히간, 연말 수요에 따라 11~12월이 53.8%로 가장 높은 비율을 차지하였으며, 오전, 오후 구분 없 이 하루 종일 수확을 하는 농가는 71.4%로 많은 비중을 차지 하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한, 수확 후 에는 모든 농가 가 개인선별을 하며, 절화 백합을 수확 후 바로 Chrysal SVB 또는 Chrysal AVB를 이용하여 전처리를 하는 것으로 조사되 었다. 전처리 후 농가에 따라 저장 단계가 다르나 저장 시 슬 리브 포장 작업을 한 후 출하 전 까지 5~7°C 저온저장고에서 전처리 용액에 저장을 하거나 슬리브 작업을 하지 않고 전처 리 용액에 저장을 하며, 출하 전날 박스 포장 후 건식저장 하 는 것으로 조사되었다. 농가에서 출하 된 절화 백합은 수출보 다 내수 비율이 54.3%로 다소 높으며, 내수 판매처는 도매가 63.6%로 가장 많은 것으로 조사되었다.

영어 초록

This study was conducted to analyze the cultivation and postharvest management strategies of lily farms in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, in 2016. The results showed that the number of lily farms decreased from approximately 19 in 2011 to approximately 11 in 2016, which may have been due to aging of farmers, uncertain economic conditions, and crop conversion. The survey results were followed up, and in 2016, we further investigated s even o ut o f the 1 1 farms t hat responded to our survey on their lily cultivation strategies. These investigations s howed that 5 7.1 % of t he farms h ad a cultivation area of 3,300 – 6,600 m2, and farmers with two farms accounted for 42.8% of these. All farms, from which a response to the survey was received, used PE vinyl mulching to aid cultivation, and at six farms, excluding one farm at which plants were grown using box culture in greenhouses, crops were grown using soil culture. At most cut lily farms, various oriental and interspecific hybrids were cultivated. Among them, ‘Medusa,’ an oriental hybrid, and ‘Yelloween,’ an interspecific hybrid, were the most cultivated breeds. Because of the Obon and Higan holidays, as well as the end-of-year celebrations, which increase the demand for lilies in Japan, the harvest season with the highest crop yield (53.8% of the annual yield) was from November to December. Additionally, 71.4% of the surveyed farmers harvested all day, in both the morning and the afternoon. All farmers individually sorted and pretreated their crops with Chrysal SVB or Chrysal AVB immediately after harvesting. After pretreatment, the storage method differed among farms. One method, after packaging the sleeves, involved storing them in pretreatment solution at 5°C – 7°C. Another method was to store the flowers in the pretreatment solution without sleeves. After this step, the lilies were stored under dry conditions at 5°C – 7°C after box packaging. The percentage of domestic deliveries of lilies shipped from farms was slightly higher (54.3%) than that of those being exported. Domestic sellers accounted for 63.6% of the wholesale. It is suggested that the cut lilies from farms in Seosan are pretreated and stored to maintain postharvest quality, although the cultivation environments differ among the farms. Further research is needed to compare and analyze the status of cultivation and postharvest management strategies in other areas.
