연극교육을 위한 브레히트 학습극 활용

최근 국내에서는 2009년과 2015년 교육과정개정을 통해 문화예술교육에 대한 필요성과 중요 성이 크게 대두되었다. 특히 연극교육은 다른 장르의 예술교육보다 새로운 교육정책이 요구하는 학생들의 창의력향상과 부합하고, 통합교육의 실천적 방향성을 제시하는 대안적 모델로 평가된 다. 최근 2014년 9월 24일에 발표한 ‘2015 교육과정 개정안’에는 초등학교 국어교과에 연극이 대 단원으로, 중학교 국어교과에는 단원으로, 그리고 고등학교 예술교과에서는 일반선택과목으로 포함될 수 있는 내용이 담겨있다. 서구의 경우에도 연극의 교육적 중요성은 오래전부터 인식되어져왔다. 많은 경우에 공공사회 에서 올바른 시민역할의 확립과 사회적 교류의 가능성을 익히는 주요한 교육적 도구로써 연극을 활용하였으며, 현재 제도권 교육시스템 내에서 연극은 공공사회에서 개인의 역할인식과 올바른 사회적 관계성 유지를 위해 주요한 교육적 역할을 담당하고 있다. 본 논문은 문화예술교육의 오랜 역사와 변화의 과정을 거친 유럽의 대표적 국가인 독일의 학 교연극교육의 교육적 방법을 살펴보고자 한다. 특히 독일연극사에 공연이론과 제작에 큰 위치를 차지하고 있으며 현 독일 연극교육 프로그램에 영향을 끼친 베를톨트 브레히트(Bertolt Brecht)의 교육극(또는 학습극)에 대한 생각을 살펴봄으로 현 한국학교 교육에서 요구되는 창의력 증대와 융합(통합)교육이 독일 연극교육에서 어떻게 실천되는지 직, 간접적으로 확인해 보고자 한다. 이러한 연구배경에는 연극교육이 現 국내 학교교육에서 요구되는 창의력 증대와 융합(통합)교 육제시를 위해 적합하다는 사실을 증명하고, 앞으로 연극교육이 한국 문화예술교육 정책적 방향 성을 구축을 위해 큰 역할을 담당할 것이라는 논지가 담겨있다.

영어 초록

Recently, the necessity and importance have been emerged in Korea for the education in culture & arts through the revision of education courses in 2009 and 2015. Especially, the theatrical pedagogy conforms to the improvement in the creative influence of students who demand a new education policy rather than the education for art of different genre. The theatrical pedagogy has been evaluated for the alternative model that presents the practical directional nature of an integrated education. The '2015 Revision of Education Course' recently announced on September 24, 2014 contains the details in which the play can be included as a chapter in Korean language curriculum in elementary school, as a unit in middle school and as a general selective course in the art curriculum in high school In western countries, the educational importance of the play also has been recognized for long years. In many cases, the play has been utilized as a critical educational instrument to establish the correct role of citizens and to learn the possibility of social exchange in public society. It has taken a critical educational role to maintain the recognition of individual role and the correct social relationship in public society within the educational system of current institution. The present paper will examine the educational method of the theatrical pedagogy for schools in Germany, the representative country in Europe, which has gone through long history and change in the education for culture and arts. Especially, thoughts for the pedagogical play (or learning-play) of Bertoit Brecht shall be examined, which has not only occupied a large position in the performance theory and production in the German theatrical history but also caused an influence on the current program for theatrical pedagogy in Germany. Accordingly, it shall be checked how directly and indirectly the increase in creativity and integrated education, which are required in education in current Korean schools, would be fulfilled in the theatrical pedagogy in Germany.Such research background contains an argument that will prove the fact that the theatrical pedagogy is suitable for the increase in creativity and the presentation of integrated education which are required in present domestic school education; and that the theatrical pedagogy shall play a big role to establish the political directional nature of the education in Korean culture and arts.
