SUDOKWON Landfill site Management Corp. discharges leachate of landfill after it treats leaking
water of landfill through its own Purifying treatment method of the leaking water from landfill.
The final quality of water, processed by the method and discharged, is 7~10 times morepure than
the legal standard (less than BOD 6mg/L). For the first time in Korea, in total, about 33.3 billion
won in operation cost has been reduced since 2001 because the cost of chemical, that had been
about 5,200 won/㎥ from 1992 to 2000, was decreased (800 won/㎥) through efficient
management.
Also, by a method developed by SUDOKWON Landfill site Management Corp. and treating
leaking water of food waste with leachate, dewatering water of food waste (COD: Approximately
150,000mg/L) that has been difficult to treat on the ground due to the highpollution level (More
than Quintuple of leachate from landfill) is being treated. Now, The method is being tested to 120
㎥/day in real fields. After 2007, SUDOKWON Landfill Management Corp. has a plan to increase
the amount of dewatering water of food waste up to 1,300㎥/day, treated by the method.
