In this article, I tried to reveal significances of a very unfamiliar phenomenon which I had discovered through participant observation and research in vocal classical music lessons. The unfamiliar phenomenon is that there are differences in "easiness" and "uneasiness" between a master and an apprentice. So this provokes tension between them. The "easiness" and "uneasiness" is based on their different levels. Therefore, all the professionals necessarily feel these feelings whenever they experience performances of other professionals. According to their relationship, those feelings could aggravate conflicts with professionals or give opportunities to level up. Teaching-learning is the latter and a very special intentional activity. And there are both stable and conservative sides of each level, but I focused on the effects of conservation of the levels in this article because that side is related to teaching-learning. Sometimes we cannot judge whose level is higher or lower because we feel "easiness" or "uneasiness" based on our own levels. If we find objective criteria for levels, we can lessen our confusion. It is beneficial to the development of each professional area and the process of teaching-learning. A master and an apprentice define situations or problems differently from their own levels. But through teaching-learning, we can get a chance to think reflectively about our "easiness".
