본 연구의 목적은 모래놀이에서의 교사개입이 유아의 친사회적 행동과 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향
을 알아보는 것으로 연구 대상은 D광역시의 사립 유치원에 재원중인 만 5세 유아로 실험집단 21명과
통제집단 18명의 유아들이다. 실험집단은 모래놀이를 교사개입과 함께 경험하였고 통제집단은 모래놀
이를 교사개입 없이 경험하였다. 실험은 1주간의 사전검사, 8주간의 교사개입, 1주간의 사후 검사 순으
로 진행 되었으며 연구도구로는 김영옥(2003)의 교사용 유아 친사회적 행동 평가 척도(PBSYC)와 안경
숙(2003)의 ｢과학능력 평가도구｣의 과학적 태도를 측정하는 ‘행동목록표’검사 도구를 사용하였다. 수집
된 자료는 유아의 친사회적 행동과 과학적 태도의 사전․사후검사를 하나의 요인으로 하고 실험집단과
통제집단을 또 다른 요인으로 하는 반복측정에 따른 혼합설계(Split Plot)에서 두 요인의 상호작용효과
를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 모래놀이에서의 교사개입을 경험한 실험집단의 유아들과 모래놀이에서의
교사개입을 경험하지 않은 통제집단의 유아들 간의 친사회적 행동과 과학적 태도는 통계적으로 모두
유의한 차이가 나타났다.

영어 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the teacher’s interventions in sand
play on the prosocial behaviors and scientific attitudes of young children. The subjects of
the study were 39 five-year-old children enrolled in S private kindergarten located in D
metropolitan city, who were in two classes, 21 children of an experimental group and 18
children of a control group. The instruments used were ꡔProsocial Behavior Scale for Young
Children(PBSYC)ꡕ(Kim, 2003) and ꡔChecklist for Scientific Attitudes of Young Childrenꡕ(Ahn,
2003). The experimental group children had experienced with teacher’s interventions during
the sand play and the control group had not. The procedure of the study included one-week
pretest, eight-week teacher’s interventions and one-week post test. The collected data was
analyzed by ANOVA-repeated measure in split plot design.
The results of the study are as follows：
First, the results indicated that：(a) there were significant differences in prosocial
behaviors and it’s subordinary areas such as the leadership, helping, communication,
initiative-concern, trying proximity, sharing and empathy between the experimental group
and the control group. In other words, the prosocial behaviors of the experimental group
children were improved more than those in the control group children. (b) there were
significant differences in scientific attitudes between the experimental group and the control
group. In other words, the scientific attitudes of experimental group children were improved
more than those in a control group children.
In conclusion, teacher’s interventions in sand play could promote the prosocial behaviors
and scientific attitudes of young children.
