한국어 초록

본고는 최근의 언어 환경 변화와 교육적 요구에 비추어 컴퓨터 작문 교육의 배경과 연구 동
향을 살펴보고, 이를 통하여 우리의 작문 교육과 작문 교육 연구에 대한 시사점을 탐구하고자
하였다.
언어 환경에의 적응 요구와 작문의 특성을 반영할 수 있다는 교육적 이점으로 컴퓨터는 작문
교육에 수용되었다. 컴퓨터는 필자와 외부 세계와의 상호 작용을 보다 활발하게 해 줌으로써 독
자에 감각을 증진시켜준다. 또한 텍스트를 보다 쉽게 관리하고, 텍스트를 공유하고, 텍스트를 변
형할 수 있게 해 준다. 이는 상호텍스트적 작문 기능을 강화시켜준다. 또한 다양한 의사교환 장
치를 마련함으로써 작문 결과물을 다양한 층위의 사람들과 공유하게 함으로써 협력적인 작문 환
경을 구축한다.
컴퓨터 작문 교육은 작문 이론을 교육적으로 실현하는 데 기여하였다. 인지구성주의 관점에
의한 과정 중심 작문 교육은 워드프로세스의 교정, 편집, 출판 기능과 그리고 과정 전략을 보조
하는 소프트웨어의 지원으로 더욱 강화되었다. 또한 네트워크를 활용한 작문 수업은 협력적인
학습 환경을 조성함으로써 작문 교육에 대한 사회구성주의 관점을 강화하였다. 후기 구조주의
관점은 현재 작문 교육의 인식론적 기반을 비판함으로써 작문 교육 연구 분야에서 아직 소외된
부분으로 남아있다. 하지만, 컴퓨터 환경에서 구축되는 하이퍼텍스트의 출현과 언어 생활에서의
컴퓨터의 영향력 증대로 앞으로는 그 위상이 강화될 것이다.
컴퓨터 작문 연구는 비교적 짧은 역사를 가지고 있다. 하지만 워드프로세스, 네트워크 환경,
하이퍼텍스트라는 컴퓨터 작문 환경은 작문 이론의 변화와 맞물려 컴퓨터 작문 교육 연구 담론
을 지배하였다.
컴퓨터 작문에 대한 효과 연구는 서로 상반된 결과를 도출하였다. 이러한 결과의 충돌은 컴퓨
터 작문의 다양한 상황을 고려하지 못한 실험 연구 방식에 기인한다. 하지만 이러한 결과들의
충돌에도 불구하고 컴퓨터를 어떻게 좀더 효율적으로 작문 교수-학습에 통합할 것인가를 탐구
하는 것은 중요한 문제이다. 왜냐하면 컴퓨터는 작문 교수-학습의 도구이면서 학습자들이 미래
에 적응해 가야 할 언어 환경이기 때문이다. 따라서 앞으로는 컴퓨터 자체에 대한 효과 연구보
다는 컴퓨터 작문의 교수-학습 내용과 방법에 대한 탐구에 좀더 초점을 두어야 할 것이다.

영어 초록

This article explores background and trends on computer composition in
education that it shorts of discussion in our nation, and try to propose direction on
research of computer composition in education.
Computer is accepted within education of composition because it has educational
advantage for change of language environment and characteristics of composition.
Sense of distance between reader and writer is reduced by tool called computer.
Computer promotes sense of reader with interaction between writer and outside
world. It also is possible to manage, takes each other and transform texts easily
beyond limitation of times and space by having function of big storage, handiness
of approach and manufacture on texts. Thus computer environment intensifies
intertextuality. And it constitutes collaborative environment of composition with
various instrument of communication. Computer-based composition contributed to
realize composition theory in practice. Process-centered composition in education by
cognitive constructivism is expanded with word process to assist revising, editing,
printing and process strategy. Also networking environment in computer developed
view of social constructivism because it assists collaborative learning environment.
Although Post-constructivism is remained part of coner around area of composition
research in education critiquing current composition theory, we guess more
stronger power by appearance of hypertext in computer environment and influence
of computer in our life.
A research of computer composition has short history since it is started with
about instruction practice and composition skill by empirical research in mid-20
century. This trends managed discourse about composition research of computer in education matched with change of composition environment, word process,
networking, hypertext.
The research of Effect about computer composition produced opposite
conclusions. This conflict based on controlled quantitative research not to consider
various context in computer composition. But to be unconcerned this conflict, it is
important to inquiry how is integrated computer and composition. Because
Computer is instrument for instruction-learning in composition and language
environment of learner further. Thus we expect researches about content and
method of instruction-learning in computer composition forward.
