본문내용
The domain of reading and writing, which is more complex thinking process than human’s basic communicative situations, requires a high-dimensional metacognition. Literacy functions as a window that enables an individual to view the world and understand a social construction. In a second language learning setting, a purpose of reading and writing is to facilitate learners to acculturate a new society. Through development of literacy in a second language, learners will realize how the new world is constructed and what they are required to carry out.
Given the fact that literacy plays a crucial role for development of an individual’s perspective regarding the new world, two weeks of reading and writing instructional unit is designed to offer improvement of literacy as well as insight toward the real world. In classroom, not only will students learn how to understand a given text more effectively, but also they will improve their writing proficiency by experiencing actual practices.
