Eileen Fisher Ad from “The New Yorker”
Who is the target audience for this ad?___An old maid (30 years old to 40 years old)__
Read the descriptions below. Analyze each feature and explain why it might appeal to the target audience.
The ad design is very simple with a very ambiguous setting. The background is a dark grey.
Why is this setting important? Why might it appeal to the target audience?
The setting of advertisement is quite important. The reason is that the setting is the role of producing atmosphere for advertisement and then consumers are able to figure out of what designer of advertisement wanted to display. The reason why the target audience who is an old maid around 30 years old to 40 years old, it is because of the setting and the clothes that model is wearing. When I look at color which is a dark grey, I feel like darkness or fear and when I matched up with the clothes, the style of clothes looks like a little bit old. The color of clothes is red and pink which is given old feeling. Combine all of this; the target audience would be an old maid around 30 years old to 40 years old.
At the bottom of the page, in a small, slanting font that could easily go unnoticed, is the tag-line, “Color theory for everyday practice.”
