In 2010, Toyota was recalled, which is the worst crisis in Toyota's corporate history. However, it regained the world's No. 1 sales volume in the first quarter of 2012 due to rapid post-processing and response.

Toyota is also famous for its leading management methods, including the JIT production method and the introduction of telecommuting. JIT stands for "Just In Time," and instead of always preparing production parts, it is a production management method that reduces waste to the limit by ordering only the necessary amount at the time when the production volume is set. The JIT production technology has greatly helped Toyota reduce costs and is considered to have increased price competitiveness.

On June 9, 2016, Toyota announced an unprecedented telecommuting revolution. It was said that only two hours a week was required to go to work, and the background of the announcement was to reduce the number of experienced women retiring due to childcare or parental support. It was conducted on 25,000 people, 35 percent of the total employees of Toyota in Japan
