인간을 거시적으로 본다면 하나의 사회적 객체로 인식될 수 있지만, 미시적으로 이해하고자 한다면 육체와 마음의 결합체라고 생각할 수 있다. 달크로즈의 음악 교수법은 미시적 관점에서 인간의 복합적 구성요소들을 종합적으로 활용한 교수법이다. 유리드믹스, 솔페이지, 즉흥연주가 한 인간의 생각과 감정을 온전히 표현하기 위해 유기적으로 연계되어있다. 이러한 달크로즈의 음악 교수법은 개인에 대한 섬세한 이해에만 국한되지 않는다. 개인에 대한 교육의 영향력은 사회적으로 규범과 이해에 영향을 미치며, 이에 있어 음악은 단순한 심미적 혹은 기능적 역할을 넘어 사회 기여적 역할을 할 수 있다.

달크로즈의 음악 교수법은 유리드믹스, 솔페이지, 즉흥연주 세 부분으로 이루어져 있다. 특히, 세 번째 요소인 즉흥연주는 유리드믹스와 솔페이지 트레이닝의 결정체라고 할 수 있다 (Abramson, 1980; Thomsen, 2011). 첫 번째 요소인 유리드 믹스의 기본적인 원칙은 소리와 신체의 표현적 연계성에 있다. 어떠한 소리라도 신체로 표현이 가능하며, 반대로 신체로 표현이 가능한 것은 소리로도 전환 될 수 있다 (Abramson, 1980).
