India have the 2nd largest population in the world. It is almost 1.3 billion. Also, is estimated to be US$ 600 billion(2013) and also, one of the top five retail markets in the world by economic value. India is one of the fastest growing retail markets in the world . But India’s retailing industry mainly consists of unorganized, small, sometimes very small, shops owned and operated by their owners and their family members. Almost 9 times bigger is the unorganized retail market than organized. It is because there were many obstacles to operate retail business in India.
