All over the world, in all countries, we find short, wise sayings that are used by ordinary men and women, saying that have been handed down from one generation to another.
전 세계, 모든 나라에서 우리는 보통의 남녀들에 의해 사용되고 한 세대에서 또 다른 세대로 물려져 내려온 현명하고 짧은 격언들을 찾는다.

Some of these sayings are called proverbs, and a proverb has been defined as the wisdom of many and the wit of one.
이런 격언들의 얼마는 속담이라 불리고, 속담은 많은 사람의 지혜와 한 사람의 기지라고 정의 되어져 왔다.

It is interesting and amusing to study a nations proverbs.
나라의 속담을 연구하는 것은 흥미롭고 재밌는 일이다.

They tell us much about the habits and customs of the people who use them.
그들은 그를 이용하는 사람들의 관습과 풍습에 대하여 많이 우리에게 말하여 준다.

We must remember, however, that proverbs are often in the kind of language, use a long time ago.
그러나 우리는 속담들이 종종 오래전에 사용되었던 종류의 언어라는 것을 기억해야만 한다.

No language, remains the same from one century to another.
어떤 언어도 한 세기에서 또 다른 세기로 가면서 그대로 남아있지 못한다.

A language, unless it is a dead language like classical Latin or classical Greek, is always changing.
