Since the new government, led by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, took over political power in 2013, Myanmar has shown great promises and opportunities to businesses in regional countries. In particular, Myanmar’s automotive market is undergoing an impressive growth phase following the ease of car import regulations after decades of restrictions. As of 2014, there were a total of 4,407,741 registered vehicles in the country. As Yangon remains the key political and economic center of Myanmar, demand is expected to rise for business car sales and leasing service in a wide range of sectors, such as governmental offices, private businesses and commercial establishments.
In order to penetrate the market of Myanmar, it is paramount to locate a well-established partner that possesses a nationwide coverage and huge market share within the country. Through the initial business matchings program and a series of stringent interviews and screening, Oscars Auto is delighted to be able to obtain the keen interest of Yoma Fleet, one of the largest vehicle leasing and rental operators in Myanmar, with more than 1,000 vehicles and total asset under management of over US$40 million.
