「교육용기초한자 자소표」제정을 위한 시안 연구*

본고는 교육용 기초한자에 대한 ‘자소표’ 제정이 시급하다는 인식 아래에서, 선행작업의 결과를 바탕으로 하여 ‘자소추출 원칙’ 및 ‘자소 표의 구성’ 등의 대강을 정하고, 그에 의거해 「교육용 기초한자 자소 표」 시안을 작성하여 310조 451개의 기초자소를 설정하였으며, 분석 층차에 따라 이차、삼차자소들도 같이 제시하였다. 본고에서 제시한 ‘자소추출 원칙’은, 아래의 네 가지로 요약된다. 1) 가능한 범위 내에서 자리에 근거해 한자의 계통성을 살린다. 2) 현실 자형으로 그 근원을 밝히기 힘든 경우에는 해서체 자형에 근거한다. 3) 교차중첩되어 결합되는 자소들은 탁분하지 않고, 모두 기초자소 로 설정한다. 4) 외형상 탁분할 수 있는 자형이라 하더라도, 자리에 맞지 않거나탁분 후의 자소 모두가 여타 자소에서는 전혀 사용되지 않는 경우 탁분 하지 않는다. 본고에서 시안으로 작성한 자소표는 조번호、자소번호、기초자 소、변이형태、이차자소、삼차자소、자소명칭、예자、비주 등으로 구성되고, 조의 나열은 각 조 제일 위에 위치하는 대표기초자소의 음순 에 의거하였다. 자소표에서 제시하는 310개 조에서, 동일한 조로 편성 되어 있는 자소들은 대표기초자소와 서로 형、음、의 삼자간 유기적 관계를 맺고 있는 자소들로 구성되어 있다. 각 조에는 기초자소와 파생 자소 및 동형자소들이 같이 나열되어 있으며, 자소번호는 기초자소에 만 부여하였다. 설정한 자소추출원칙에 의거하여 「자소표」를 작성하였지만, ‘계통 성과 현실자형 사이의 선택문제’ ‘자소명칭 부여의 문제’ 등은 여전히 문제점으로 지적될 수 있다는 점도 말미에 언급하였다. 향후 좀 더 완성 도를 높이기 위해서는 각 종 색인 및 성자자소표 등이 추가로 작성되어 야 한다는 견해도 피력하였으며, 이를 위해서는 자형 및 자음의 규범 화、필획 및 전통 자전 부수의 재조정이 함께 이루어져야 한다는 점도 지적하였다. 이러한 문제들은 어느 한 두 사람의 주장으로 해결될 수 없는 것으로, 학계의 공론화를 통해서 비로소 이루어 질 수 있다는 점 역시 언급하였다.

영어 초록

Based on the recognition of an urgent need to make a "graphemes table" for the basic Chinese characters for education, this study roughly set the "principles of grapheme extraction" and "organization of graphemes table" based on the findings of previous studies. Based on them, the study drew up a tentative plan for "Graphemes Table for the Basic Chinese Characters for Education," set 454 basic graphemes of 311 groups, and presented secondary and tertiary graphemes as well according to the analytical strata differences. The "principles of grapheme extraction" proposed in the study were summarized as follows: 1) Keeping the systemicity of Chinese characters alive based on the structure origins within a possible scope. 2) Examining the origins of Chinese characters based on their Standard script shapes when their current shapes are not available for the purpose. 3) Setting all the graphemes crossed and overlapped asprimitive graphemes instead of disassembling them. 4) Disassembling no character shapes that can be disassembled based on their forms on the surface when they do not fit the structure origins or have all of their graphemes not used in other graphemes at all after disassembly. The graphemes table proposed as a tentative plan in the study consists of group numbers, grapheme numbers, primitive graphemes, variant forms, secondary graphemes, tertiary graphemes, names of graphemes, sample characters, and notes. Individual graphemes were enumerated according to the syllabic orders of primitive graphemes listed at the top of each group. The graphemes of each of 311 groups on the graphemes table have three-pronged organic relations with the primitive graphemes at the top of each group in shapes, pronunciations, and characters. Each group presents a list of primitive graphemes, derivative graphemes, and graphemes of the same shapes with the grapheme numbers allocated only to the primitive ones. Atthe end of the study, the investigator raised a possibility that the issues of "choices between systemicity and current character shapes" and "naming graphemes" could still be problems even though the "Graphemes Table" was made based on the principles of grapheme extraction. It was also proposed to make all sorts of index- and character formation-based graphemes tables to increase the completeness of the table, which requires the standardization of character shapes and pronunciations and the readjustment of strokes and traditional Radical. Since those issuescannot be solved by the arguments of a couple of individuals, the academic world needs to discuss them among the members for their solution.
