영화읽기 프로그램 적용을 통한 중학생의 인권 감수성 향상

본 연구의 목적은 영화읽기 프로그램이 중학생의 인권 감수성을 향상시키는 데 효과가 있는지
를 확인하는 것에 있다. 이를 위해 서울지역 중학교 학생들에게 1년간 영화읽기 인권교육 프로그램을
실시하고 사전사후검사를 통해 그 효과를 알아보았다. 프로그램은 “영화로 보는 인권이야기”라는 특별 활동반으로 월1회 4시간의 수업을 진행하였으며 영화 전 활동, 영화 보기, 감상 후 분석과 토론 활동으로 이루어졌다. 영화읽기 프로그램의 효과를 확인하기 위해 문용린 등(2002)이 국가인권위원회에서 개발한 중학생용 인권감수성 진단 검사를 사용하여 프로그램 전과 후의 인권감수성을 측정하였으며 통제반(26명)과 실험반(27명)의 평균 차이를 비교하고 인권영화반의 변화 정도를 인권감수성 하위요소, 이야기별, 성별에 따라 확인해보았다. 그 결과 우선, 인권영화반과 통제반 사이에서는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나 인권영화반의 인권감수성의 변화는 유의미하게 확인되었다. 한편, 인권감수성 하위구성요소나 에피소드, 성별로는 부분적인 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. 이처럼 인권감수성의 하위요소별, 성별, 이야기별로 효과의 차이가 나타나긴 했으나 전체적으로 인권 영화읽기 프로그램 이후 인권감수성이 높아졌다는 점에서 본 연구에서 주목한 인권 영화읽기 프로그램이 인권감수성을 높이는 데 도움을 주는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

영어 초록

The purpose of this study is to find out whether the film literacy program is effective in
improving middle school students’ human rights sensitivity. To attain the goal, middle school
students residing in Seoul received the movie reading human rights education program for a year, and then the effect was examined through pre- and post-tests. The program is a special activity class named as “The Stories of Human Rights Seen from Movies”, and it was conducted for 4 hours, once a month. It consisted of before watching activity, movie watching, analysis after the appreciation, and debate activity. To investigate the effect of the film literacy program, the study employed the human rights sensitivity diagnosis test for middle school students developed by Mun, et al. (2002) in the National Human Rights Committee in order to measure their human rights sensitivity before and after the program. The averages of the control class (26 students) and the experimental class (27 students) were compared, and the degree of change in the human rights movie class was examined in terms of the subareas of human rights sensitivity, stories, and also sex. According to the result, first, there was no statistically significant difference between the human rights movie class and the control class; however, the change of human rights sensitivity in the human rights movie class was found to be significant. Meanwhile, there existed partial effect with regard to the subareas of human rights sensitivity, episodes, or sex. Like this, there was difference of effect in terms of the subareas of human rights sensitivity, sex, and episodes; however, in the point that human rights sensitivity did improve in general after the human rights the film literacy program, the human rights film literacy dealt with in this paper is helpful in enhancing human rights sensitivity.
