영어 초록
The study is on the application of visual literacy to art education in the early childhood.
In other words, it is an attempt to develop the systematic method of study for the children in art education as like the usual reading and writing in the elementary education.
During the early childhood, the child is continually searching for new concepts, and his representational symbols are also constantly changing. And they consciously come to make the image related to the world which surrounds them.
The fact that the children are able to make a graphic communication have a grate significance for their parents or teachers.
By this application of visual literacy to the art education in the early childhood, we can devise systematic method of art education. Such visual literacy as critical viewing, visual discrimination, visual communication, visual perception can be used in the constructive learning environment.
The children need the capacity of understanding the message from the world surrounding them.
In particular, for the growth as the person of literacy in an age of information, the visual literacy will have a greater role than before in the art education.
