This thesis aims to see the inter-relations of painting and claying activities and also to analyze the characteristics of expressions caught on the portraitures by children in different ages.The questions for the study are as follows:
1. Is there any correlation between the developmental stage of painting expression and that of clay expression?
2. Is the developmental stage of painting expression higher than that of claying expression?
3. What is the developmental stage of painting and claying expression by age level?
4. What is the developmental stage of paintings and claying expressions by sex?
The subject of the study is one hundred sixty children aged three to six.
The investigation has classified the data based on Kim Jung's developmental stage of expression and Golomb's developmental stage of expression with claying. And also the investigator calculated the average for the comparison of each developmental stage and for the knowledge of relation with both ages and sex.
The results of the study are as follows:
1. It is found that high static correlation between the developmental stage of painting expression and clay expression.
2. The developmental stage of painting expression process higher level than that of claying expression regardless of ages and sex.
3. The developmental stage of expression has close relation with age.
4. No sexual difference is found in the development stage of expression.
