일반 고등학교를 졸업한 장애학생들의 전환실태 조사 및 개선 방안

본 연구는 일반 고등학교 특수학급 졸업생들의 전환실태 조사와 함께 전환성과 향상을 위한 개선방안을제안해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2013년 2월에 졸업생을 배출한 경남지역 일반 고등학교 특수학급 교사 44
명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 졸업생 161명에 대해 전체 및 장애유형별 진학||| 취업||| 직업훈
련||| 주거실태||| 미취업의 이유 등을 포함하는 구체적인 전환실태와 함께 전환교육을 담당하는 교사들이 인식
하는 필요한 전환교육 프로그램의 내용||| 전환교육 시행 시 문제점||| 그리고 이를 개선하기 위한 방안을 파악
할 수 있었다. 조사된 161명 전체의 전환실태를 보면 상급학교 진학자 41.0%||| 취업자 29.8%||| 직업훈련 참여
4.3%||| 미취업자 24.8%로 나타났다. 하지만 진학자 중 60.6%는 전공과 진학이었으므로 실제로 고등교육기관에
진학한 비율은 16.1%에 불과하였으며 이 중 84.6%가 전문대학에 진학하였다. 취업자의 취업직종을 보면 포
장/조립/운반직에 대다수인 60.4%가 취업하였다. 미취업자들의 자신과 관련된 주된 미취업 이유는 자기관리
능력||| 지적능력||| 의사소통능력 부족 등이었고 학습장애의 경우는 장애인 카드 미소지가 높은 비중을 차지하
였다. 주거실태에서는 대다수인 84.5%가 부모나 친척과 거주하는 것으로 나타났다. 교사들이 생각하는 필요
한 전환교육 프로그램에서는 대인관계기술||| 의사소통기술||| 일상생활기술 등이 높은 비중을 차지하였으며 고
용/직업기술이나 기능적 학업기술 등은 상대적으로 비중이 낮았다. 전환교육 실시 상 문제점으로는 지역 관
련업체와 연계 및 협조부족이 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였고||| 전환교육시설/설비 부족||| 전환교육 내용/프로그
램의 비현실성 등도 비중이 높게 지적되었다. 전환성과 향상을 위한 개선방안으로는 지역사회 관련기관/업체
와의 연계 및 협력 증대||| 현장중심 전환교육 프로그램 개발 및 실시||| 전환/직업교육 전문인력 증원 배치 등
이 제시되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 장애학생들의 보다 성공적인 전환과 이를 위한 개선방안 마련이 강조되고
있는 특수교육 현장에서 유용한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
영어 초록
The aim of the present study was to investigate transition status and suggest improvement directions forhigh school graduates with disabilities. Research instrument was a set of survey for 44 high school special
education teachers in Gyeongsangnam-do. From the survey set that teachers responded||| data was gathered about
transition status of 161 graduates||| teachers' opinion about transition education programs necessary||| difficulties in
implementing transition education||| and directions to improve transition outcomes. The main results were as
follows. First||| 41.0% of graduates entered postsecondary institutes||| 29.8% was employed||| 4.3% participated in
training programs||| and 24.8% was unemployed. Second||| among those who entered postsecondary institutes|||
60.6% entered postsecondary vocational education course in special schools||| therefore it was only 16.1% of
graduates who entered 2 or 4 years colleges. And||| 60.4% of the employed worked at packing/assembling/
conveying companies. Third||| in terms of living status||| 84.5% depended on their parents and independent living
rate was only 2.5%. Fourth||| teachers stressed interpersonal skills||| communication skills||| and daily living skills as
preferred skills which should be taught in the transition education programs. Fifth||| teachers pointed out the
lack of cooperation and support from local companies||| the lack of facilities and equipment for transition
education||| and impractical transition programs in schools as difficulties in implementing transition education.
Sixth||| for the major improvement directions||| teachers suggested the improvement of cooperation and connections
with local companies||| increase of local transition service support centers and transition education special
coordinators||| and development and implementation of more practical transition programs in schools.
