한국어 초록

본 연구의 목적은 노인자서전 쓰기 교육 프로그램에 참여한 노인 학습자들이 작성한
자서전의 내용을 분석하여 이들이 구성하는 생애사를 재구성함으로써 노년기 삶의 의
미를 고찰하는 데 있다. 연구방법은 노인자서전 쓰기 교육 프로그램에 참여했던 노인 8
명의 자서전을 슈체(Schuetze)의 ‘생애사적 발전과정구조’(Prozessstruktur des Lebenslaufs)
의 개념에 근거하여 구조적으로 분석하고, 구조적 진술을 체계적으로 연결하여 전체적인
생애사의 틀을 추출하는 분석적 추론의 틀을 도출하였다. 이후 비교분석 단계에서의 생
애사적 발전과정구조의 유형 속에서 나타나는 삶의 의미의 변화과정을 분석하였다. 연
구결과는 첫째, 아동기는 ‘행복한 어린 시절’로 나타났으나 여성은 관계를, 남성은 타인
과 구별되는 자의식 소지, 둘째, 청소년기는 ‘학교교육기회’가 주제화되었으나, 교육 기
회는 남성에게는 자신의 발전과정으로, 여성에게는 현모양처를 내면화하는 제도적 역
할을 수행하는 고통의 진행, 셋째, 성인기는 결혼과 생계가 주제화되어 여성이 삶의 주
체자로 변화하는 생애사적 행위자로 발달, 넷째, 중년기는 여성 취업과 남성 퇴직이 주
제화되어, 남성은 고통, 여성은 취업을 통한 자아존중감 향상, 다섯째, 노년기는 거취문
제, 자녀갈등을 주제화하고 문제를 인내, 수용 등 통합으로 해결하는 전환과정이 나타
났다. 이러한 전환은 자서전 쓰기교육을 통한 생애사성의 발견 또는 인지적 형상의 구
성에 성공한 것으로 나타났다. 노인들에게 있어서 자서전 쓰기를 통하여 만들어가는
삶의 의미는 교육을 통하여 자기성장을 체험하고 성취감과 기쁨을 획득하는 것으로 나
타났다.

영어 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of old participants'
autobiographies in the autobiography-writing education program and to seek the
Meaning of their lives in old age by biographical Reconstruction. We have
analyzed 8 autobiographies of old adults participated in the program on the basis
of Schuetze's concept "Prozessstruktur des Lebenslaufs" and have drawn the
frames of analytic inference by connecting constructive narrations systematically.
And then, we have analyzed the changing process of Meaning of their lives in
the categories of developmental constructs of the biographies. The results of this
study are as follows: ① The participants express their childhood as 'happy
days'. The old women emphasize the relationship, whereas the old men stress
the sense of identity distinguishing from others. ② The theme of adolescence is
'the opportunity of school educations'. That seems to be expressed as
'developmental process' to the old men but as 'suffering process' internalizing
the institutional role for good wife and wise mother to the old women. ③ The
theme of adulthood is marriage and livinghood. Therefore, the women got to be
'biographical Handlungstraeger' as the subjects of their lives. ④ The main topic
in middle age is the improvement of self-esteem due to their new employment
for women but suffering from their retirement for men. ⑤ The theme of old age
is supporting problem and conflict with children. Those problems are solved by
transforming the problems into the integration through patience and acceptance.
This transformation shows that the participants succeed in finding 'biographication'
and constructing 'kognitive Figure' through the autobiography-writing education
program. The old adults experienced growth and acquired a sense of
accomplishment and joyfulness by constructing Meaning of their lives through
the autobiography-writing education.
