The purpose of this study is to examine colsely that the competitive anxiety of athletes in the elementary school has an influence on the athletic ability and to help them to inprove the athletic ability.In order to achieve this research goal, 282 sixth grader, who participated in the athletic sports competition for boy's physical tournament selection of B metropolican city, were grouped in terms of genders, competition categories, and groups and their somaric and cognitive anxiety as well as satus confidence were measured using Marten's Competitive State Anxiety Inventory 2 (CSAI-2). Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS. Statistical methods used were t-statistics and one-way ANOVA. The following concolusions were defived.
First, in the competitive ancxiety level of enders and categories, only 100m status confidence showed meaningful differences between male and female groups, but cognitive and somatic anxiety as well as status confidence didn't show any differences in a long jump and putting the shot.
second, in a 100m race according to competitive anxiety level of categories, the record between groups showed meaningful differences according to samati, cognitive anxiety as well as status confidence factors or the rest between male and remale, except for the cognitive aneixty of the male group in a 100m race. Also the record between groups showed meningful differences according to the somaric, cognitive anxiety as well as status confidence factors or the rest group between male and female, except for the somatic anxiety of the man group in the long jumpk and the record between groups showed meaningful differences according to the somatic, cognitive anxiety as well as status confidence factors of the rest group between male and female, except for the cognitive anxiety element of the man group amd somatic anxiety facots of the female group in the putting the shot.
third, in the correlation of the anxiety degree of categories and the athletic ability, it whowed that whole factors of male and female groups ha dmeaningul correlation except for the somatic and cognitive anxiety in the 100m rece, and whole elements of male and female groups showed meaningful correlation in the long jump, also whole factors of male and remale group showed meaningful correlation except for the cognitive anxiety elementary in the putting the shot.
In conclusion, it is confirmed that the conpetitive anxiety of athletes players in elementary school has an influence on the record of the athletes.
