In this study, children's experience and evaluation of lying and cheating behaviors were investigated. Parents' attitudes about the children's behaviors were also examined. Sixty children from the 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades were chosen as subjects for this study. The children were asked about their experience in deceiving behaviors like lying and cheating. Ten stories of deceiving behaviors were provided to help and trigger the children's answer about their experience. Ten deceiving stories consisted of 5 prosocial behaviors with good intentions and 5 antisocial behaviors with bad intentions. Children were also asked about how they felt about their own lying and cheating behaviors as well as about their parents' attitudes towards those behaviors. The results were as follows. First, the 3rd graders deceived more than the 1st graders and the 5th graders in overall deceiving behaviors. However, for the prosocial deceiving behaviors with good intention, the 3rd and the 5th graders experienced almost the same but more than the 1st graders. For the antisocial deceiving behaviors with bad intention, the 5th graders showed less experience than the 3rd graders. Second, the children evaluated their deceiving behaviors as more permissive as their grades got higher. Third, as the children's grade increased less children thought their parents would punish their deceiving behaviors.
