본문내용
In Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - chapter 16, Huck has big trouble whether he has to pass over Jim to slave tracer, or not. He has trouble in Social value, and personal value. If he set Jim free, he breaks the social values. At that time, one nigger has 800$ value – in Jim’s case – and he is Miss Watson’s personal property. So if Huck set Jim free, he violates the social value. But in contrast if he passes over Jim to slave tracer, he breaks the personal value. He thinks Jim as a friend. So if he really thinks Jim as a friend, he has to keep the faith. In the event, he didn’t pass over Jim to slave tracer. He decided to keep the faith, and personal value. Then he thought, if I educated well, I would not do wrong, and I would not violate social value. Nowadays everyone think that Huck did good thing, but at that time most people do not agree about Huck`s behavior. Does Huck do wrong because he hasn’t received education? Does really education influence people to behave right way? Than what is the right behavior?
