I have a charitable grandfather and a warmhearted grandmother. My grandparents have been living together in their house since they got married in 1954. I visit their house every Chuseok and New Year’s Day, and I always have a great time with my relatives there. My grandparents’ house is full of my childhood memories, so I feel that their house is my second home.
My grandparents’ house is located in a typical Korean rural community, so I can see many rice fields and farms around their house. When I walk down the street of the town, I can hear the dogs barking from the neighboring houses. Their house is surrounded by a big garden. The front entrance of the house is always open to welcome all the people who visit my grandparent. I can see the front garden after going through the entrance. On the left side of the front garden, there is a kitchen garden of which my grandmother takes care. I can see green lettuce, sesame leaves, and red peppers growing in her garden. Additionally there are two big persimmon trees standing on the corner of the garden. There is a detached house on the right side of the front garden, which is called Sarang-Bang in Korean, and a barn next to the detached house. I can see a hen pecking at the grain, and hear the chicks peeping in the middle of the garden. The back garden is also filled with various kinds of vegetables raised by my grandmother. I can see cucumbers, eggplants, green pumpkins and Chinese cabbage. Sometimes my grandparents’ dog follows me and shakes its tail when I step into the back garden.
