Introduction
Culture affect hugely on people’s behavior and thought. There are many different ways of viewing and examining a specific and unique culture. This report will show four different cultural structures; masculine vs. feminine, individual vs. collectivism, universalism vs. particularism, and the difference in hierarchical distance, by examining Korean’s culture and the others who have opposite culture such as India, Germany, and Canada.
Masculine vs. feminine
I remember that my grand father told me not to go to the kitchen because it is women’s space and men must not do women’s job. Besides, women could not work outside which was considered men’s job. I accepted his thought naturally when I was 3 or 4 years old. Today’s Korea, however, a lot of thing has changed and is changing rapidly just within 19-20 years. Nowadays, it is often said that men must share the responsibility of household duties, and women are also responsible for providing financial aids. Many people would blame on a person who is like my grandfather and even look at him as if he was a crazy man.
