Objectives: 1)Class can listen to get specific information from the formal speech.
2)Class can listen to understand gist of the utterances from the informal speech.
3)Class can speak about differences between formal and in formal speeches.
4)Class can be aware of lexical and suprasegmental markers for definitions.
Linguistic Skills: listening skill, speaking skill and reading skill
Vocabulary:cheerio,chap,previously,executive,senior,manager,streamline,recruitment, managerial ,budge, efficient, clerical staff
Grammar: None
Life Skills: When you are given an important information, you can understand it.
SS can distinguish speech styles from the formal and informal contest.
Materials: CD player, hand out on new vocabulary, work sheets on filling in the blank.
Background Information:
I will teach a high school class in korea, where students on intermediate-level course are taught English. Most of them are interested in Second language learning, so they are a full of intrinsic motivation. Most students in High school are sensitive to learning. Therefore, the challenge for the teacher is to create a classroom environment which is active and exciting. To achieve goal students involved in to class together, teacher should try to provide as positive environment as possible, Teacher should prepare activity and techniques carefully. To generate motivation to students, utilize authentic language in authentic contexts. it can be enable students to engage into the class with interesting and exciting.
