본문내용
There are various sensors for temperature measurement, so the objective of this experiment is to learn the principle of temperature measuring. Also, we are going to learn about how to use 3 different sensors: thermocouple, resistance temperature detector(RTD), and vapor pressure thermometer. While measuring, we are going to find performance improvement by calibrating sensors. Finally, we are going to analyze the result based on the theory of thermodynamics. After the experiment, we will understand the difference between the sensors and the characteristics of each temperature measurement device.
1) Thermocouples
A thermocouple is electric temperature-measuring device which is widely used in this experiment. It consists of a pair of dissimilar electrical conductors. The junctions in thermocouple are subjected to a thermal gradient. If there is a temperature difference between the two junctions, it produces an electricity and current flow.
