Nanomaterials can change their physical properties by only changing their nanometer size. Quantum dots are nano materials that change their optical properties depending on size change. In this experiment, CdSe will be synthesized, and the size change of CdSe in short time intervals will be observed by PL spectrometer and UV-Vis spectrometer. Furthermore, by the data recognized from spectrometers, optical properties of CdSe that change by size change will be predicted by particle in a box model, and size of CdSe particles will be calculated by empirical fitting equation. Moreover, full width at half maximum for emission band and absorption band will be measured to explain size distribution in nanoparticle, and absorbance value will be correct by this value. Finally, concentration of quantum dot sample will be measured. By comparing all of these data, it will be possible to discover optical changes of CdSe in quantum dot range.
