본문내용
4문단: All the important informations until now, did it get it from the narrator? or did we learn it from the overhearing the conversation between the waiters. The second one is correct. But here is the problem one has left. “Turning off the electric light he continued the conversation with himself”. Do you remember the ‘Interior Monologue’? The voice in your head always talking. Now there is a shift in narrator’s perspective. First it was the ‘objective narrator’ that only tells the information if we were there at the setting. Nothing in there mind. But here it becomes the ‘limited omniscience narrator’. Meaning that narrator can now go into one person’s mind; the older waiter. So he was talking about people who need a cafe.
And pay attention to the “it”, because when people think something their mind jumps around; not always log ically connected. I think hemingway tries to capture that.
(I pointed out in my book)
Bodegas and wineshop opens all night.
