2. Objective
In this experiment, pressure drop in pipe accessories, such as gate valve, standard elbow bend, 90◦Mitre bend, straight pipe, glove valve and sudden enlargement, are measured.

By the experiment, we get the below data.

5. Factors of error
A. Impurities inside the water and pipe
We assumed that all pipes are very smooth pipes. But the experimental apparatus is may be used for long time. Therefore, the pipes could be rusty or be damaged even if the pipes are very well managed. Impurities inside the pipe could make the error. Then the theoretical fanning friction factor may not precise, and it may also caused the error of theoretical ΔP and the head loss. Also, we assumed that the water flowing in the pipe is pure, but there may be impurities in water. Impurities inside the water could make friction that cause the error of the experimental values.
