본문내용
Social linguistics is concerned with the use and function of language beyond the language itself. Existing theoretical linguistics was about the internal system of language, such as ideal language structure. The ideal structure of language is a structure equipped with all grammatical components such as subject and predicate. Social linguistics studies the way of speaking, which depends on various factors such as user class, gender and age, and varies according to the context of the conversation partner and situation, on the premise that there are rules and tendencies even in diversity. Social linguistics also studies communication problems and their solutions that arise in the community. Among the categories studied in social linguistics, I think the criteria that cause the greatest diversity of languages are race and gender. Through three theses, I would like to explore how race and gender affect the function in social linguistics.
