소개글
Chinua Achebe, who is the author of ‘Things Fall Apart’, shows a process of loss. It means destruction of one African tribe by Western. This demolition is not just a passing phase. It has persistency, and is to make a different life completely. Chinua Achebe explains this phenomenon realistically. For this reason, I could understand an act of aggression and religious violence through this realistic description. The protagonist of this novel is ‘Okonkwo’ who is a warrior and leader in his tribe ‘Umuofia’. However, this story does not say his heroic life, but religious power with western imperialism that overwhelmed individual ability and tribal tradition. In this book, the religious power does not have just religious purpose and purity. It is invasion as if by mission, and it includes western policy, law, and military. Though it is a novel, this story gives time to consider. Therefore, I reach some conclusions and take time for self-examination.

본문내용
Through this book ‘Things Fall Apart’, I was able to see the process of wrong mission and its influence. The meaning of this title, I think, shows stages of destruction, and it is caused by western. In addition, I could know this implication of demolition in the name of ‘Black Forest’ where western missionaries stayed to build church. The black forest was a cursed place and restricted area. Because native people believed that evil spirits lived in the black forest.
