The authors, Al Ries and Jack Trout, say that the company can make further progress if they learn the immutable laws of marketing.
Marketing should not communicate to consumers that they offer better products or services than their competitors. It is more effective to think of the first thing than to persuade consumers to have a better product. In most cases, the first brand like Coke, IBM, and Hertz becomes the leader in the market.
