How Apple-Samsung patent wars have impacts on both companies?
It is very well known that Apple and Samsung have been fighting each other to protect their own patent in the past years. The two companies, which are considered to be strong competitors in the area of IT, sued each other for infringing on patent right in many countries, such as Australia, Germany, South Korea, and the United States. The first patent started in 2011 in San Jose, USA, when Apple took a legal action for its infringement of patent against Samsung electronics (Mintz). According to the article written by Mintz, “Apple launched its world courtroom attack against its rival company, Samsung, accusing the South Korean tech giant of copying the secret ingredients from the iPhone and iPad for its smartphones” (Mintz).
Samsung electronics also litigated Apple for infringing its products in Germany, Japan, and the United States. Since then, there have been continuous conflicts between the two companies regarding the design and technology of their new products, and now it’s not easy to expect Apple and Samsung reach a perfect accommodation with their cases considering how they have fiercely fought with each other.
