Phosphoinositide 3-Kinase Signaling Mediates -Catenin Activation in Intestinal Epithelial Stem and Progenitor Cells in Colitis
Wnt pathway and its regulation of catenin in stem cells and cancer. With Wnt: catenin is stabilized and translocated to the nucleus. Nuclear catenin binds Tcf, thereby activating Wnt target genes, which in turn regulate stem cells and tumorigenesis. Without Wnt: catenin is constitutively degraded.

IEC PI3K/Akt Signaling Is Abolished in I-pik3r1KO Mice
- P-catenin552 levels are increased in proliferative regions and sites of crypt fissioning within SB polyps.
P-catenin552 is enhanced in patients with CUC and is reduced by mesalamine treatment.
PI3K : (Phosphoinositide 3-kinase)
The phosphoinositol-3-kinase family is divided into three different classes: Class I, Class II, and Class III.
Class IA PI3K is composed of a heterodimer between a p110 catalytic subunit and a p85 regulatory subunit. There are five variants of the p
