Regarding the relationship between being on a diet and Bulimia nervosa which is one of eating disorders, Fairburn(1997)’s research explains that “factors that are likely to increase the risk of dieting contribute to the etiology of bulimia nervosa”. Also their finding suggests “bulimia nervosa is most likely to develop in dieters who are at risk of obesity and psychiatric disorders in general”(Christopher G. Fairburn at al, 1997). Concerning causing an eating disorder, “researches indicate that those who diet are nearly 5 times more prone to developing a serious eating disorder..........
