I really am not sure whether or not I agree with an American sport being used to express Korean Nationalism. It seems like there is always going to be some aspect of American culture in every other nation`s culture so I think it would have been refreshing if there was no part of American in this at all. Movies often make it seem like foreign countries need some form of American assistance to do well in anything, and the story is the same here. They were dependent on the two American men to teach them baseball in the beginning and then they became self sufficient. But why is it always that America has to save the day? I would have preferred if it was another sport, not directly connected to America. The good thing about the sport was that it brought positive attention to Seoul and that the Korean people had something to be proud of.
