⦁The fundamental goal of human`s language is convey messages each other. But each culture has own communicative rules. These rules are different from each countries.
⦁So, in cross-cultural communication, misunderstandings can occur. For successful communication, we need to understand other community`s contexts.
⦿ Communicative intent
⦁To understand the communicative intent, you must be able to read the context.
⦁Misunderstandings occur when different culture`s speakers follow their own communicative rules.
ex) You look tired today, You look like gain some weight.
⦁Even speakers are in the same culture, misunderstandings can occur. Because they are lack of understanding the context.
ex) It`s hot in here.
